Preparing the research set up at the NIOZ premises

Research partners

The University of Applied Sciences Vlissingen, the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research and Shipsonic have won a research grant. This research grant is made available by the Dutch Taskforce for Applied Research (SIA KIEM). This is a governmental program to support innovation through facilitating and subsidizing applied research cooperation between the business and educational sectors in the Netherlands.

Research objectives

In this project we are going to compare the effectiveness of different ultrasonic frequency combinations for different fouling organisms. A second objective is to apply these new insights in systems that can be applied on box-coolers. At the moment we are building the research setup at the premises of the NIOZ in Yerseke. Keep an eye on this space for updates and more detailed news on progress of the research.
